Yesterday and today memebrs of the gSLM consortium met in Barcelona as part of a new project, FedSM. FedSM will take up many of the results of gSLM, and apply them to real operational infrastructures. The gSLM roadmap is core material for this effort, and the assessment tool and models wil be used extensively. Keep up to date with FedSM on twitter.
Tomorrow will see two session at the EGI Technical Forum 2012 in Prague, Czech Republic, showcasing results from gSLM. The first will be the session on NGI Sustainability where gSLm members will give a checklist of things to consider in NGI sustainability plans, and gSLM members participating in PL-Grid, the Polish NGI, will share their practical experiences in the area.
The gSLM project will be involved in several elements of the EGI Technical Forum 2012, which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic from 18-21 Septmber 2012. Members of gSLM have participated in the Program Comittee and the events looks to be an interesting one! We hope to see you there.

Looking back on our first year we've managed to speak to a lot of people about the problems of SLM in Grids, and we are looking forward to starting to provide more concrete advise to the community in our second year.
At the moment gSLM project director Dr Thomas Schaaf is giving a tutorial on IT service management topics, including frameworks and standards like ITIL, ISO/IEC 20000 and COBIT. The room is already full with people sitting on the floor to see the talk, so it seems to be being well received!
Today we are running a workshop in Lyon, France, as part of the EGI Technical Forum 2011. The event will feature an introduction to the project and a short panel discussion on SLM and Grids including members of gSLM as well as NGI and User representativtives.
